TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Chou Tien-chen (周天成), Taiwan's top badminton player, clinched victory over Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the men's singles final at the BWF 2025 Arctic Open on Monday (Oct. 13). Chou secured his second consecutive title in this tournament with a hard-fought 2-1 win, despite playing through an injury.
Chou's journey to the championship was grueling, with all five matches extending to three games. He battled through the final match with a blister on his left foot, which burst midway through the game. After the match, he discovered that his sock was soaked in blood.
Chou expressed his determination, stating that even though it hurt, he persevered through sheer willpower, ignoring the physical pain. Throughout the tournament, Chou demonstrated resilience, consistently pushing through three-game matches to emerge victorious.
